God is good, even when life is not

It's been less than a week since we got the news...God has already shown up for us in so many ways. I am so grateful that I can see and feel His comfort.

  4. Stacy and Family,

My heart goes out to you and you will all be in my thoughts and prayers everyday. It has not taken to long for me to figure out that you already have your Miracle. Rachel Alice may not know her purpose in this world, but she has one. She will also bring more love to you and everyone who knows her than she could ever imagine. I did not use to believe there was a reason for everything that happens until recently. But I know now that it is much easier to accept that and believe it then keep wondering why things happen. When it comes to children its even harder to understand because they are so small and innocent.

After seeing this beautiful Legacy site and listening to this music as tears come to my eyes for you and your family........I think things like this happen to great, strong, loving people for a reason: people that can handle it and still are able to provide the unconditional love that is required. God trusts you that you will take the best care of her until she is safe with him. You have God and a great family and I know that you are going to have more love and support than you could ever ask for.

  5. I went through a trial similar to yours 6 years ago now. It is hard to believe that it was that long ago. We just celebrated our son Ethan's birthday at his grave where we go every year on his birthday to take a family picture and bring balloons and flowers. He is a part of me daily.
Ours was unexpected. I will pray for you as you walk this difficult road and ask God to make Himself real to you daily. My husband prayed this for us on our way to the hospital to deliver our son and He showed up in so many ways. It was amazing. He is so good in all ways.
I know for us, our peace was that Ethan could never reject our Savior, but instead was with Him in eternity forever. I will see him some day! :) Our prayer has been for our children that God would take our children before the age of accountability if they were not going to accept Him and I am sure many would think us crazy, but what greater gift than to know where they will be for eternity?
Romans 8:18~"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us."
Upholding you in prayer, bearing your burden with you,
    Carrie

  6. I love how you worded it, Carrie - that they could never reject Jesus. I hadn't thought of it that way. It's never a "given" that our children will follow the Lord just because we do and obviously our hearts desire is for them to do so. Matt just said last night how God gives us the desires of our hearts, sometimes in ways we wouldn't expect. thanks for that reminder.
