One Day to Go!

Tomorrow is Rachel's birthday!  I am cleaning like a maniac today... we'll call it nesting :o)  trying to get everything in order to leave for the weekend.  I'm definitely feeling wiped out, but my excitement is keeping me going.  I hope it will help me sleep tonight.  I'm going to try to go to bed at a decent time for once so that I am ready for the early morning.

I am amazed by how I feel today.  If you would have asked me a month or two ago how I thought this last week before her birth would feel, I would have guessed that I would be a wreck.  I would have said that I would be emotional and angry... but I am full of joy and hopeful expectation.  Tell me where else that could come from but the Lord?  He is so good to me.  I feel at peace and I am ready to meet my little girl.  I never thought I'd ever feel ready.  I can't wait to hold her in my arms.

Matt & I have really pulled together these last couple of weeks and I am certain that this journey has made our marriage even stronger than it was.  I am also certain that just like God prepared us for this time with other times, He will use this to prepare us for what He has in store for us next.  He is good like that.  I am looking forward to the day when this makes sense to us and we can see how it was for our good.  I know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him.

What a road it's been...  and I know the hard part hasn't begun.  I will post details about tomorrow later tonight and we'll have pictures of this lovely lady coming soon!  Can't wait to show her off!

  1. Yay! I can't wait to "meet" Miss Rachel! I will be praying for you guys all day tomorrow. I know God's presence will be all around as you meet your daughter. :-)

  2. I stumbled across your story months ago and have followed it since. It is always in the back of my mind. Even if only once a week, I always get caught up with your life. You are beautiful and so brave. I sincerely hope you take suggestions of writing a book and I pray for wonderful miracles to come your way, tomorrow and the rest of your life. You are an angel.

  3. Stacy, I'm wishing you the best of luck tomorrow! I'm praying that the c-section goes as planned and Rachel gets to go home with you! I can't wait to see pictures of Rachel!

  4. Stacy,
First let me tell you that you and your family are in my prayers. I pray that He blesses you with peace and comfort. I lift up all the care providers that will be caring for you that the Lord will lift them above their abilities while caring for you and your recovery is as pain free as possible. The Lord is the ultimate physician and has you all in His loving hands!
Thank you so much for having the strength to follow Gods will and sharing your story. I am a L&D nurse who is currently out of work and have been praying about my next step. This may sound odd but you have helped remind me of why in good times and lets say not-so-good times I love L&D.
    From your sister in Christ,

  5. I am about 14 weeks pregnant and came across your page through a mom I know. I just want you to know that my family is praying for you. May blessings just pour out upon you and this little sunbeam. You are an amazing women with the strongest family I have ever hear of.
I can't wait to see pictures of your beautiful little girl. Congratulations Mama.
    Peace, joy and love.

  6. I have been following your blog since I saw your article in the Fosters. Your Faith and Strength inspired me at a very difficult for our family. You are an amazing woman of God! Thank you for what you and Rachel are teaching all of us. I was praying for your family and this verse came to me.

Isaiah 26:3 "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."

The Hebrew root of "stayed" is to lean or lay upon, rest upon, lean against to support, uphold, literally brace oneself! I am praying that as you walk through this next stage of your journey that you and your family will find yourselves braced within His arms. I pray there will be such a Supernatural Peace in that room tomorrow that anyone who enters will feel the presence of God. I believe in Miracles and I will continue to pray for one!
Thank you for sharing your life with us.

  7. Stacy,
I will be thinking of you and praying that everything goes perfect for you! I will also be praying that Rachel gets to go home with you! I can't wait to see pictures of her!! All my love,

  8. Stacy,
I am and will be thinking of you all and hope everything goes well for you tomorrow. You are a beautiful and strong woman.

  9. Hi Stacy,

As my husband and I follow your journey, I am lead to think about Mary, the mother of our Savior. I have to wonder if she too felt similar to the emotions you have so beautifully shared. To know that she was going to have a son who would live only to die at the early age of 33 so that we could be provided the atonement we so dearly need. Stacy, sweet Rachel, has touched many. Because of your decision to share, we will never be the same. She has reached the heart of many. **big tearful hug from Alabama!**

I know I am a stranger but I wish you guys all my love!

  12. AMEN TO ALL THE ABOVE PRAYERS. and may you take with you all my blessings and prayers for tomorrow and always. As you gaze upon your sweet angels face and feel the overwhelming peace knowing the face of Jesus is both perfectly hidden and perfectly revealed in Rachels face!
